Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work?

Regardless of which package you choose, you will fill out 4 pieces of paperwork so I can get a better understanding of your goals, habits and symptoms.

  • A 5 day Food and Mood Journal

  • Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire

  • Initial Interview Form

  • Disclaimer

From there we will meet for an initial interview, and depending on the package you chose, a Recommendations session (30 min), and follow up sessions every 3-4 weeks (30 min). We will work together to come up with a nutrition and lifestyle plan that is doable and sustainable for you!

Who is nutritional therapy for?

You don’t have to be sick or have a chronic disease to benefit from nutritional therapy. Many people simply feel a bit “off” and are highly aware that their habits could use some tweaking. The added bonus of accountability is a powerful tool to help you stay motivated.

Nutritional therapy is a wonderful tool for anyone looking for

  • A health refresh

  • More energy

  • Digestive support

  • Improved blood sugar

I want to lose/gain weight. Can you help me?

While weight loss or weight regulation may be a side effect of our work together, we won’t be counting calories or heavily restricting your diet. (Because those tactics don’t work in the long run!) We focus on the Foundations of Nutritional Therapy– digestion, blood sugar regulation, hydration, mineral balance, fatty acids and a nutrient-dense properly prepared diet. By doing so, we aim to bring ALL of your body’s systems into balance, which usually begins to regulate weight in a healthy way. Blood sugar is a huge player here–weight gain or loss has everything to do with insulin.

How long will I have to wait to see results?

This varies per person, as we are all unique. However, you may start to feel positive benefits in as little as one week. Please keep in mind that nutritional therapy supports healing in the body, which can be a long process. It may have taken years for your body to get out of balance, and it can take time for it to heal and find balance again.

How much time do I need to spend on this each week?

The initial forms take most people 45-60 minutes to complete, not including the 5-day Food & Mood Journal. After that, it’s up to you how much time you put in each week based on your individual recommendations.

Any time you put towards your health is an investment in your wellbeing and longevity!

Do I have to give up everything I love to eat??

Heck no! We will focus on adding nutrient dense foods that you love, and will try to incorporate favorite versions of foods as much as possible. Eating–and life–should be enjoyable! It may be appropriate to try eliminating a certain food, and it’s possible that I will recommend a permanent elimination of certain foods. However, this decision is ultimately up to you, and you know your body best.

This being said, everyone can benefit from reducing the amount of processed flour and sugar in their diet.

How do I book a session with you?

The first step is to book a discovery call with me or contact me on my website. This is where we’ll discuss options, your main concerns, and we can see if nutritional therapy is a good fit for you. From there I’ll send you more information on booking your first package.

How much is it?

There are 3 packages to choose from based on your needs. See details for all packages here

If you are a continuing client, meaning you’ve already completed a package and would like a tune up or more sessions, please visit this page.

How long do I have to book my sessions?

Kickstart Package: You must book your single session within 1 month

3-Month Journey: You must book all sessions within 4 months

6-Month Journey: You must book all sessions within 8 months

(I am always understanding of extenuating circumstances. If you are unable to book all sessions within the allotted time because of illness or a family emergency, please let me know and I am happy to work with you!)

What if I don’t book all of my sessions in the allotted time?

You must book your sessions within your allotted time, or you will unfortunately forfeit your remaining sessions. (I am flexible with scheduling if my schedule allows. Please communicate clearly about any scheduling issues in advance.)

What if I need to cancel/reschedule a session?

Please reach out to me by email or text within 48 hours of your session if possible. I understand that there may be circumstances out of your control, and am always happy to be flexible if I’m able! Please keep in mind that I am a small business, and my time, as well as yours, is valuable. Thank you.

Can I book additional sessions with you after my package is complete?

Yes of course! There is a special rate for Stone Flower members whenever you feel like you need a tune up! You can either purchase an additional package of follow up sessions at the member price, or a Tune Up Package including a new Food & Mood Journal + NAQ analysis. More details here.

What if I want to extend my session package? (Example: I purchased a Kickstart package. Can I upgrade to a 3- or 6-month? Or–I purchased a 3-month package. Can I upgrade to a 6-month?)

Yes! You may upgrade your package at any time, and your current price will roll into the cost of the upgraded package.

Can I work with you instead of going to see a doctor?

Nutritional therapy should not take the place of your medical doctor. A nutritional therapy practitioner is a wonderful addition to your health team, and I work together with your doctor to achieve your health goals.

Do you take insurance?

At this time I do not accept insurance.

Can I use my HSA funds towards nutritional therapy?

Maybe. However please double check with your provider just to be sure. Many clients have successfully paid for nutritional therapy using their HSA/FSA funds, but I strongly suggest you give your insurance a call first. See this page for more information on using FSA funds for nutrition services. You will need a Letter of Medical Necessity from your doctor to qualify. Please note: If you plan on using HSA funds and are denied, I am unable to offer a refund.
